PAST P.O.U.R. INTERNS

Parth SariN, STANFORD university ‘23

“One of the most valuable things I learned from Veronica was the value of being uncomfortable. I’d just started working at a brand new startup and ... her wisdom helped me stabilize my relationship with that job. But Veronica’s advice is more than a platitude: it’s an empowering directive about leadership. If you’re comfortable being uncomfortable then, no matter which chair you have in the room, you should take charge of that role and use your position to pursue your mission and create change in the world.”

MARLIZE DUNCAN, UNIVERSITY OF SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA ‘23

“Veronica has truly shown me how to utilize my skills in many ways I would’ve never expected. It’s always surprising when someone pushes you to do a task or project that isn’t in your wheelhouse – especially when you’re used to a specific kind of work. In my case, I entered the consulting world from a journalism background. But Veronica didn’t push me for the sake of pushing, she did because she saw my potential and believed I could thrive. Her mentorship and advocacy have assisted me in knowing what I deserve and shaped me for the better.”
